Myth 1: Replacement of this turbocharger is based on the supercharger model. It is considered that the same type of supercharger can be replaced. Answer: Supercharger assembly number, production number, customer figure number and model number are generally available on the supercharger nameplate. The supercharger with the same customer figure number can be used interchangeably.
Myth 2: Turbocharger main shaft sway, which is considered to be caused by internal parts wear. Answer: The turbocharger is a floating bearing structure. The main shaft and the floating bearing are clearance fit. Therefore, the normal turbocharger has a certain clearance, which is often called “sloshing”. Of course, the gap of the supercharger is also corresponding to the specification. If the specification is exceeded, the internal parts are worn out.
Myth 3: The booster bypass valve will exhaust some of the exhaust gas, so it can block the bypass valve or prevent it from working, so the booster is better powered.
